Bowl turning demands different kit than spindle work. You need headstock capacity for larger diameters, the ability to handle dynamic forces, and a machine stable enough to turn without chatter. If you're serious about bowl turning, the lathe specifications matter far more than a general-purpose machine.

Why Bowl Turning Needs Different Specs

A spindle lathe with a 250 mm swing might handle small bowls, but you'll hit limits fast. Bowl turning typically involves facing grain, larger pieces, and deeper cuts that generate side forces the machine must absorb.
